Modern Tyres Annual Conference 2018 at Druids Glen
Modern Tyres held their annual conference and prize giving Gala Dinner this year at the Druids Glen Hotel and Golf Resort in Co. Wicklow.
The Druids Glen Hotel and Golf Resort was the perfect location for this years Modern Tyres Annual Gala Dinner and Conference. The 5 Star Resort provided amenities which are second to none, as the team of Modern Tyres delegates experienced.
This year, the conference has had its schedule remastered and become more inclusive as numbers nearly doubled with partners now attending. This change in the format provided a new variation in the dynamic of the conference and was very well received by all attendees.
The day started with lunch in Hugo’s Restaurant where we could sample some of the Druids Glen award winning culinary excellence. The exceptional staff, atmosphere and surroundings of Hugo’s Restaurant won’t be forgotten easily as the overall dining experience is one of the best we’ve had.
The late afternoon session started with the managers attending the annual conference company update, while the partners could enjoy the full plethora of the Druids Glenn facilities.
After being updated on the performance of the company during the afternoon, managers and their partners enjoyed a gala prize giving ceremony which was finished off with the presentation of the Modern Cup to the best performing depot of the year. The Carrigtwohill branch took the honors in a very close battle with Castlebar, Carnbane and Limerick depots.
The evening’s entertainment was provided by the brilliant Jack Wise - a magician, ventriloquist, pickpocket and sword swallower who took complete control of the audience and had everyone in stitches, truly winning everyones hearts!

The family-run business started by Jimmy Byrne in 1965 with one tyre depot has grown to become Ireland’s largest independent tyre retailers with 43 branches Nationwide. They were named regional winner for their depot in Dublin in the 2018 Tyre Retailer of the Year awards at the Irish Auto Trade Awards in Dublin last December.
