CC Racing Update
A fantastic display of skill and sportsmanship from CC Racing's Connall Courtney
I recently received this email from CC racing outlining their recent triumphs battling toward the top of the table. It makes for an exciting read and we here at Modern Tyres wish them all the best of luck in their continuing successes.
Hi Stephen,
Here’s an update of whats Connall’s been up to since the last report, where he had double wins at Bishopscourt.
He had a race at Mondello on 10th May, qualified on Pole and went on to take the win by 9 seconds from 2nd placed man in a dominant display. The conditions were overcast but dry.
Then next time out he also had double wins at Kirkistown, qualifying 3rd on the grid, then going on to take the two wins by 6 sec’s in race one and 9 sec’s in race two in another dominant display.
This took Connall from 6 points down to 24 points in the lead of the Irish Championships.
This weekend’s racing was at Mondello, and it turned out to be beautiful weather but with a cool breeze.
First qualifying and first two races was on Saturday. Connall was on super form and qualified in Pole, then went on to win both races again in a very professional matter of fact manner. 1st race by 7 sec’s & 2nd race by nearly 4 sec’s.

Going into Sundays race, we were quietly confident of two more good results. But during race one Connall was lying in 2nd place biding his time to move into the lead as he had done in the previous days racing.
However just as Connall was making his move the leader high sided, with the bike bouncing up of the track and hitting Connall’s machine, taking both riders out of the race and no points.
Connall was very sore and mostly fit to race, however the bike would not be fixable by race two in such a short space of time. So we used a hire bike which was obviously not set-up for Connall, but we managed to get him out in race two, to take a 4th, which was harder to earn than his two wins the previous day.
Now back home with the dust settled, we are obviously delighted with the wins on Saturday and the way he won them, but feel cheated out of a another good days results on Sunday. However he showed true grit by getting back out in race two to take 4th and bag more points towards the championship.

The bike will now need to go back to Mototech in Ballinderry to be made race ready for the next race in two weeks time at The Bishopscourt circuit outside Downpatrick and continue his fight for the Irish Championships.
Must thank those that have helped to keep his challenge going, Mototech, Modern Tyres Newry, Granco Trucks from the business end and a big thanks to friends & family who chip in with just about everything else.
