£53,000 and rising for Marie Curie Truck Convoy

MODERN TYRE SERVICE SPONSORSHIP SUPPORT OF MARIE CURIE TRUCK CONVOY HELPS RAISE VITAL FUNDS
Modern Tyre Service Northern Irelands largest Independent tyre dealers are delighted that the eight year of the Truck Convoy of Fermanagh has been a huge success. This event is the closing event of The Lady of the Lake Festival, in Irvinestown Co Fermanagh, and has again raise much needed funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care, in this their 60th year. Sheena Havlin from Marie Curie said “there is still money to come in from CD and DVD sales but at the moment the event has raised over £53,000 which is absolutely fantastic!”
This convoy is the biggest in the land with 470 trucks taking part from far and wide. When you consider the 60 mile circuit of beautiful countryside through which the event takes place, is there anything like it in Europe or even the world!
The funds raised from the event will ensure Marie Curie Cancer Care can provide high quality nursing, totally free, to give terminally ill people the choice of dying at home supported by their families. Last year Marie Curie Cancer Care provided 62,038 hours of nursing care to 983 patients in Northern Ireland.
