D26 goes from strength to strength
D26 based in Monaghan, services the retail tyre trade throughout the twenty six counties of the Republic of Ireland. In 2003 D26 celebrated its 25th anniversary in business with a move to new purpose built premises just outside Monaghan town.
D26 is a sister company to Modern Tyre Service started by Jimmy Byrne back in 1965 and last year it celebrated its 40th Anniversary.
The name D26 comes from a very simply philosophy introduced by Jimmy Byrne, distribution for the 26 Counties. Today D26 Tire Co remains a specialist wholesaler of Vredestein Tyres servicing all the 26 counties.
D26s purpose built premises on the Threemile house road in Monaghan enable them to carry a larger range of stock as well as making delivery’s of containers and daily collections for nation-wide deliveries much easier to cope with. Liam Carroll Warehousing and Distribution provide an excellent over night delivery service throughout the country. Orders received up until lunchtime will be processed and with customers the following day.
The long established relationship with Vredestein which goes back over 35 years brings great benefits for customers. These include great consistency of supply; an extensive range to choose from and over-night delivery. Vredestein are very proud of its relationship with D26 and is one of the longest established between a tyre manufacturer and an Irish distributor. Commenting on this relationship Bert Stellinga the MD of Vredestein UK said that “consistency in excellent service to their customers has given them an important position in the Irish tyre market that will be reinforced in the near future as the team at D26 continues to grow its network of independent customers”.
